We got married in Portugal in 2013 and we decided to revisit in the summer of 2017 to have the holiday we didn’t quite have last time. During our wedding week we didn’t get much time to appreciate the hotel and the surroundings, so we stayed in the same hotel this time round and made sure we enjoyed it!
We relaxed as much as we could, having lazy days reading on the balcony and by the pool. We also did some swimming in the hotel pool and in the sea. Even though we needed to relax after a hard year in the real world, we still went on days out to Portimao and Albufeira.
We finally explored Benagil Cave which is something we didn’t have time to do on our last visit, by having a fun boat trip from Senhora da Rocha beach.
On more than one occasion we had a wander round our wedding location, taking in the views and reminiscing. Part of the cliff has fallen away recently, which is why we wanted to go back to this location. As we would hate to think we missed the chance to go before the cliff falls away so much we can’t even walk along the cliff.
We do love Portugal, with the beautiful rocky coastline, colourful sea and very tasty grilled chicken. Hopefully we will be able to visit our wedding location again in the future without any further damage from erosion, which is chipping away at the ever so stunning Senhora da Rocha.
