Like many thousands of other people around the country we decided to try and spend our Christmas money the day after Boxing day. We chose Meadowhall shopping centre as our destination of choice and expected the crowds.
The roads were busy with roadworks, congestion and incidents. It took us a while to find a parking space and it took just as long to find a table in the food court when we had lunch. Emma managed to buy a few things and we returned presents that were faulty or not right.
We don’t like the whole idea of Boxing day sales, January sales and how so many people go crazy over bargains. So it seems silly as we chose the day after Boxing day to go to a popular shopping centre. But you live and learn…the photo above is just one of the times a horde of people were walking in our direction.
