On our visit to Somerset in early May we stayed at a Haven caravan site in Burnham on Sea. We chose Somerset over Wales when picking a Haven site as at the time we saw it as too much of a risk to choose Wales because of the varying Covid restrictions between countries. The Haven … More Drab Burnham
This was our first trip since the lockdowns and tier systems of late 2020/early 2021. We spent 3 nights at a Haven caravan park in Burnham on Sea. As we hadn’t been to Somerset before we wanted to see more of the area, so had a day out to Weston-super-Mare. On the day we went … More Weston-super-Mare
In my last blog post I mentioned that we had a holiday booked to Majorca for the start of May, but obviously that has been cancelled now that abroad holidays are going to take place from 17th May at the earliest. However, it is not the end of the world even though I was very … More Holidays booked
My blog posts have been sparse in recent months, mainly because we love to travel and in the last 3 months the biggest adventure we’ve been on is sitting by the river in our car…eating cake… Since November we have been in some sort of a lockdown, so it has been a while since we … More 2021

We were told that Bourton was the busiest town … More Bourton on the Water
We explored a few towns while in the Cotswolds, all had the same kind of brickwork and architecture. Stow on the Wold was busy and I didn’t expect it to be overly crowded by traffic, but it did have a lot of pretty buildings and great architecture.
Broadway was the last town we visited on our Cotswolds trip. It apparently has the longest high street in the country, mainly because the main street is a big chunk of the whole town itself, on a long stretch of road. Like all the Cotswolds towns we visited the buildings all fitted into the same … More Broadway
While in Buxton we ate breakfast at the Wetherspoons pub on both mornings. We were intrigued to see how they were dealing with reopening with eased lockdown restrictions in place. We had to take a track and trace form from the entrance and fill that out while we ate. We then had to post it … More The new Wetherspoons look
This was our first trip since the lockdown began and it was in early July, a matter of days after the new guidelines that came into effect from the 4th of July, allowing pubs, restaurants and hotels to reopen. So, we were one of the first people to test out the new way of hoteling, … More A hotel during lockdown
