It is becoming a regular thing for us to visit Rufford Abbey Country Park twice a year. We go once in the winter and again in the summer. We don’t plan to do it like this, but somehow it keeps happening!

We went at the beginning of this month and one of the reasons we enjoy the winter visit is the takeaway tea we buy half way round the park to keep us that bit warmer for the rest of the walk.

In the summer instead of a hot tea to warm us we buy an ice cream at the half way point to refresh us. It’s a lovely country park and only £3 for parking. Make sure you have a wander around the abbey, it’s a beautiful ruin, especially when the sun shines through the old windows.
