We are now down to only 3 weeks until we go to Disney World! It will be pretty much exactly 2 years since we last went and are very grateful that we are managing to visit again in a relatively short space of time.
It will be a different trip this time, as it will not just be me and Emma, but also Emma’s parents. So we may have to take things a bit slower, as last time me and Emma went into overdrive on some days trying to get as much done as possible! That probably explains at least partly why Emma ended up with a cold by the end of the holiday. I felt fine…I wanted another week at least in Disney!
Back in our 2016 visit Soarin’ was closed for refurbishment, much to Emma’s dismay! With it being my first trip I knew nothing of the ride. It actually reopened a day before we left, which we didn’t know about, therefore it was quite annoying when we did realise! So we already have a fastpass for Soarin’ this time, which is one of the rides I’m looking forward to the most.
There’s the new Avatar land in Animal Kingdom, which is supposed to be really cool. We have a fastpass ready for Na’vi River Journey, but for the highly acclaimed Avatar Flight of Passage ride a fastpass is impossible because it is so crazily popular! This means our first trip to Animal Kingdom will be an early start to get there for rope drop and hopefully it will not be much of a wait to get on the ride. Animal Kingdom also has a night time show now too, so that’s another new thing to see!
In Epcot we want to go on Frozen Ever After, which is in the Norway pavilion in the World Showcase, which used to be Maelstrom. Emma liked the original ride, which is why she’s intrigued to go on this new version. We have yet to get a fastpass for this yet though because of Epcot’s tiered system. We have one day of Epcot booked in so far and Soarin’ had to be our first choice and as that is in the same tier of rides as Frozen Ever After we had to leave the latter for another day.
And of course there is no more Wishes! Which was the great finale of fireworks at the end of every night at Magic Kingdom, however, they have a new show on now, which on viewing on Youtube is certainly more colourful and visually beautiful, but there’s no Jiminy Cricket, so we’ll see what we think about that.
